Exit through the gift shop

I thought this documentary was really interesting! it really gave me a different outlook on the street art world. Im not saying that its a good thing to do, to deface ones property. However i do admire the kind of guts it takes to go out everyday doing something that most consider to be wrong, in pursuit of artistry and meaning. Even though this kind of expression will drive business owners crazy i think its important for this genre of art to exist. This kind of defiance is necessary in society it reminds those that its not always best to go along with the ideals of everyone around them. The people that are involved in street art obviously feel like their issues need to be heard. This kind of behavior is typical amongst discontented people, its the price of an imperfect democracy. We should consider ourselves lucky that they express themselves through art, rather than violence.
